It’s about American principles...and American recovery. Federal construction projects provide important jobs for local community builders. However, Obama’s executive order threatens to lock out local workers from these jobs...unless Congress overturns this harmful regulation.
Don’t let the government take them away. Union mandates typically lock out local workers who do not belong to a union from working on federal construction projects. Government intrusion into the contracting process harms local families and our community at large. We need Congress to stop union stimulus.
An executive order from President Obama encourages federal agencies to mandate project labor agreements (PLAs) on federal construction projects exceeding $25 million in total cost. These contracts require union labor and union agreements. Studies have shown that PLAs increase project costs by 12 percent to 18 percent. Millions of your tax dollars? Stimulus for powerful union interests? Ask Congress to support open competition instead.
Tell Congress not to lock them out of federal construction projects.
